The Reality
Sound familiar?
These are the situations we help Madison customers solve every week.
- →Your pet is sick and your usual vet can’t see them for two weeks
- →The big chain vet quotes felt impersonal and the bill always shocks you
- →You moved here and don’t know which vet to trust with your dog
- →Your senior pet is having issues and you need a vet who handles end-of-life with dignity
- →Your last vet rotated through 4 different doctors and none of them remembered your pet’s history
Our Services
What we do.

Service · 01
Wellness Exams & Preventive Care
Annual and semi-annual wellness exams, vaccinations, parasite prevention, dental cleanings, nutrition counseling, and weight management. We schedule generous appointment slots so we’re not rushing through your pet’s exam — a typical wellness visit runs 30–45 minutes.

Service · 02
Sick Visits & Diagnostic Imaging
Same-day sick visits Monday–Saturday for active illness. In-house digital X-ray, ultrasound, blood work, urinalysis, and cytology — most diagnostics get results during the visit, not days later. Treatment decisions made same-day with you, not over voicemail.

Service · 03
Surgery, Dental & Anesthesia
Routine spays/neuters, mass removals, dental cleanings with extractions, and soft-tissue surgeries. Modern anesthesia protocols with patient-side monitoring, IV fluid support, and pain management before, during, and after. Discharge instructions in writing with a callback the next morning.

Service · 04
Senior Pet & End-of-Life Care
Senior pet wellness with quality-of-life assessments, mobility support, pain management, and quarterly check-ins. End-of-life consultations conducted with compassion — in-clinic or in-home euthanasia available. We honor every pet’s passing with care, not as a transaction.
The Difference
Why Madison families come here — and stay.
AAHA Accredited
We’re among only 12-15% of US small-animal practices accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Voluntary accreditation requires meeting 900+ practice standards — equipment, protocols, recordkeeping, anesthesia safety. Most clinics aren’t accredited because it’s expensive and exacting.
Same Vet, Most Visits
We don’t rotate through a stable of doctors. Most clients see Dr. Reinholt or one of two associate vets each visit, with consistent records and continuity. Your pet’s history, allergies, and personality are remembered — not re-discovered every visit.
Honest Treatment Recommendations
If your pet doesn’t need that test, we don’t order it. If a treatment has 3 options, we walk through cost-and-benefit on each and let you choose. We don’t push expensive elective procedures and we’re honest about prognosis on serious illness.
Real Follow-Up
Every sick visit gets a callback the next morning to check on your pet. Every surgery gets a 24-hour and 1-week follow-up. Every senior consultation gets a written summary you keep. This is what most vet clinics used to do; we still do.
Common Questions
You probably want to know.
How much do visits cost?+
Wellness exam: $85. Sick visit + basic diagnostics: $185–$385 typical. Dental cleaning with anesthesia: $485–$885 depending on extractions needed. Spay/neuter: $385–$685 depending on size and species. Senior consult: $145. We provide written treatment estimates before any major work.
Do you accept new patients?+
Yes — we’re actively accepting new clients. New-patient appointments typically scheduled within 1–2 weeks. New patients with current vaccinations receive a full record transfer from their previous vet (we coordinate). We accept dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, and most small mammals.
What if my pet has an emergency?+
During business hours: call us first; we hold same-day emergency slots Monday–Saturday. After hours: we refer to our trusted partner emergency clinic (Vet24 Madison) with our records pre-shared. We follow up with you the next morning to coordinate continuing care.
Do you do home visits or end-of-life at home?+
Yes — Dr. Reinholt and one associate offer in-home visits for senior wellness, mobility-impaired pets, and end-of-life euthanasia. Home euthanasia available with 48-hour scheduling. Most families find the in-home option more peaceful for their pet.
How do you handle anxiety and reactive pets?+
We use Fear Free certified handling, sublingual gabapentin or trazodone before stressful visits when appropriate, and we schedule reactive pets in quieter time slots. Some pets need a “happy visit” first (walk in, get treats, leave). We adjust to your pet — not the other way around.
Get a vet your pet actually likes seeing.
New-patient appointments typically scheduled within 1–2 weeks. We coordinate record transfers, schedule generously, and call back the next day after every sick visit. The vet care your pet deserves.
